SCOTT CARROLL

Occupation:  Home Improvement/Construction Contractor

Family:  Bride Mollie, Daughter Nicole, Dog Boston.

 Age: Old

I am the middle son of former high school band students.  Dad played the French horn and mom played the clarinet.

Hey, one time at band camp………………………………………………………………..

I was an ugly child and the children made fun of me.  Therefore, I spent weekends at my dads’ house listening to him and my step mom play folk music.

I was given my first guitar at 6.  I think it was a 1903 “Stella”.  That same weekend my dad taught me “House of the Rising Sun”.

I sang in the choir in grade school and Jr. High, though you can’t tell now.  I played in a few talent shows and never won.  In high school I played in a 2 garage bands of which neither one made it past the front lawn.

My first big break was at The Hoot n Nanny, in Heber Springs, Arkansas playing for about 200 inbred hillbillies.

After that sudden shoot to fame, I spent the next 20years playing in my living room for anyone who would listen.  I would now like to thank my fans, My cat Fluffy, my snake Stanley, my bird Mr. Bird, and my dog, Boston.

I got my second BIG break, playing bass in a small church of about 30, which included the preacher, his family of 12 kids and the band. I received a standing ovation and people came forward with tears in their eyes at the end of each service to thank me for the fine job I was doing.  (or was that an alter call?) Anyway.

And here I am NOW!!! 40 something and playing with “Geezer Bob”, “Crazy Man Chris”, John “The Family Guy” and “Yanni”… I mean Tony in a band called Jurassic Rock.

 I HAVE FINALLYARRIVED!!!

Musical Influences:  Back in the 60’s and early 70’s I was influenced mostly by folk music by Frank and Myra(dad and step mom), Paul Simon, John Denver, Bob Dylan and Peter, Paul and Mary.

In the late 70’s and early 80’s my musical influences were Rock. From bands like:  Boston, Styx, Journey, Triumph, REO, Judas Priest, Van Halen and  Rush.

Favorite Musical Score: The theme from Gilligan's Island. The Leads on Boston’s “A Man I’ll Never Be”.

My Rock Idols are/were: Tom Scholz, Barry Goudreau, Neil Schon, and of course Edward Van Halen (in that order).

My idols are now:  John, Bob, Tony and Chris of Jurassic Rock.
